Please join the Artisanal Cellars team as we launch a brand new line of wines from Italy! We have hand selected small-production wineries with high quality wines that are new to the NY market. We will, of course, have wines open from the existing portfolio including Austria, France and Germany. We look forward to sipping with you there!

Classica Wine Merchant’s philosophy is to promote wines that reflect individuality of region, winery, and production style. We offer wines from small production, family-owned wineries that frequently use organic, biodynamic and/or sustainable viticulture methods. Classica Wine Merchant was founded in 2007 by Rafael Flores when he relocated from New York City to Vermont. His interest in wine, originally as a hobby while he was pursuing his PhD in Music in NYC, soon grew into a passion and a business. Winthrop Pennock joined Raf in 2011 to become a partner in Classica Wine Merchant. Both having retail experience in addition to Winthrop’s early professional experience in the hospitality business provided them with an in-depth understanding of the wine market and various connections with importers across New England. While Classica Wine Merchant distributes a wide range of prestigious producers in Vermont, the passion for Austrian wines has lead the company to import eight stellar Austrian producers for ten US markets, including New York. With the addition of a Languedoc and Mosel producer in 2014 and two more Austrian producers to come in the fall, the Classica Wine Merchant New York portfolio offers a unique selection of wines for both restaurants and retail. Everything we sell we would gladly serve at our own table!
