About the company

Started by husband and wife Frank Dietrich and Zsuzsana Molnar in 2002, Blue Danube Wine Company is an importer/distributor uniquely dedicated to the Renaissance currently taking place in the ancient wine cultures of the Danube River and the Dalmatian Coast. Based out of the the San Francisco Bay Area, we currently import from: Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia and Bosnia Hercegovina.

From Tokaj's cerebral sweet wines to the sea tinged reds of Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, Central Europe is home to some of Europe's most distintive terroir. Our focus is on indigenous grape varieties vinified to local taste, but we also ofter classically styled examples of international varieties. Utilizing techniques that range from primitive to state-of-the-art, the producers we represent are selected for their ability to capture the unique flavor and character of the lands they come from, in their wines. We like to say, "we don't just import wine, we import culture."

With wines of this sort context is everything, we love to taste and educate, buyers, sommeliers, staff and consumers. If you are interested to set up a tasting we are standing by.
