About the company
My name is Duncan Spence originally from the UK and I am married to a Southern Belle from North Carolina. In the year 2000 I bought a Winery in Franschhoek in the Western Cape of South Africa. After I purchased the winery I invested in extending the wine making facilities by increasing the building size and installing modern and updated equipment. I employed a new Winemaker and we extended the range of wines we produced, also replanted some of the vineyards. We are continuing to do this now. In 2014 when my wife and I were at our home in North Carolina I registered a new Wine sales and distribution company Rickety Bridge Winery Inc. after I had been approached by an acquaintance who was an Englishman also married to an American girl living in High Point, he was very interested in Wine and keen to sell my Wines. We imported our first wines from South Africa in early 2015 and have been selling these and other new ranges since then. Rickety Bridge wines are generally low in Residual Sugar with balanced Alcohol and fruitiness.
