About this event
While it is centuries old, the sake world is in constant flux, pushing into new areas and reviving ancient techniques and philosophies. This May, we will host ten of Japan’s most exciting breweries for a tasting in NYC, many of which are coming to the US for the first time. From legendary breweries like Isojiman and Niizawa, which have set new standards of quality, to up-and-coming young makers like Kamonishiki, Banshu Ikon, and Morishima, there will be a range of sake on display being poured by the men and women who craft it. A rare chance to meet some of the leading lights of the sake world and get a snapshot of Nihonshu in 2026.

The story of Skurnik Wines began in 1987 when Michael started the business with just a handful of relatively unknown wineries. Today, the company represents over 800 estates, most of which are family-owned-and-operated. We are the local distribution partner for these brands in eight direct markets: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and California. Beyond our distribution footprint, we also are a national importer for almost 200 brands to distributors in all 50 states.
