We cordially invite you to a unique Austrian wine tasting with all winemakers in attendance at Blaue Gans from 12-4 PM.
About the company
Vignaiolo is Italian for “vine-dresser,”someone who tends to the vines (pl. vignaioli)
Terroir: “the total natural environment of any viticultural site, defined in terms of climate, sunlight, geography, and soil water relations”, “To the extent that terroirs remain unique, and poorly understood,” write the authors of the Oxford Companion to Wine, “one can therefore hope that they will continue to help mould the infinite variety and individuality of the best wines, giving the special nuances of character that make wine such a fascinating study for wine-maker and consumer alike. Vivent les différences!” Dino couldn't agree more with the statement above.
Since 1999, Vignaioli Selection has been discovering and selecting Italian and Austrian wines that better suit your palate. A simple way of being that goes over the common label of wine importer. The quality of our wines was recognized by Wine&Spirits Magazine, Gambero Rosso Wine Guide, Duemila Vini Wine Guide, Wine Spectator, Robert Parker and Italian Wine Report.
Our wines are an interpretation of “terroir”, different microclimates, winemaker philosophy and, of course, different geographic regions: in Austria, Burgenland: Weingut Helmut Gangl, Peter Schandl; SüdSteiermark: Fuchs-Weine; Spitz in Wachau: Sighardt Donabaum; Thermenregion: Spaetrot, Fischer; in Italy, Trentino Alto Adige: Peter Sölva; Friuli Venezia Giulia: Antico Broilo, Masut da Rive, Ronco del Gnemiz; Veneto: Lorenzo Begali, Cima di Conegliano, Nicolis, Francesco Posenato; Lombardia: Frecciarossa, Barone Pizzini, Pratello; Piemonte: Ada Nada, Cascina Ebreo, Ca’ dei Mandorli, Hilberg, San Giuliano, Scarzello; Toscana: Collemattoni, La Fornace, Cantine Baroncini, Col di Lamo, La Sala, Cecilia, Sardi Giustiniani, Palazzacci, Il Conventino; Abruzzo: Per Linda; Marche: Pievalta; Campania: De Conciliis; Puglia: Vinicola Milleuna; Sicilia: Buceci.
We are currently present in New York in the most important restaurants, hotels, wine bars and wine shops and also nationally with various distributors in New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Illinois, Nevada, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, North Carolina, Vermont, Arizona, Colorado.
Today the Italian and the Austrian wine industries have begun to change to smaller, boutique producers who have begun to make their wines available in the U.S.
When dining out, North American consumers are looking for a unique culinary experience, for wines with more character and more regional depth than the classics to which we have all become accustomed.
In the last years, a lot of important newspapers and magazines, such as New York Times and Black Ink have dedicated several reviews to Dino Tantawi and his wines. They were interested in his “wine-attitude”, “wine philosophy” and “wine experience”. They desire to know the story and the background of our wines, starting from the characteristics to the cultural traditions. It might sound simple, but to be the wine of the year you need something special. That’s part of our unique passion. That’s the reason why we are ready to share our experience with people like you.
Why settle for the typical commercial product when you can be drinking intriguing wines that reflect the many diversified microclimates that Italy has to offer?
